Coco Chanel: Beyond Times and Trend

Every time you see the interlocking C logo, you will absolutely know that it’s a Chanel product. The interlocking C stands for the initial letters of Coco Chanel, the founder of the brand, and a genius designer in her time and beyond her time. The establishment of luxury brand Chanel is a little bit ironic.Coco Chanel, formal named Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, was actually a poor woman who could not afford and even despised luxuries.

She then challenged the mainstream fashion circle of Paris, by designing clothes herself. This revolution began from head—the boyish “flapper” hat in sharp contrast to Belle Epoque millinery that was in vogue at the time. This creation liberated women’s head from heavy and fussy millinery—under which, in Coco Chanel’s words, a brain was not able to function well. The flapped series was a bold innovation in Coco Chanel’s times, and remains classic and fashionable today.

Coco Chanel was chose as one of the most important 100 persons in the 20th century, together with Albert Einstein, the Beatles, Louis Armstrong and other big names. She is important because she challenged her times, went against the trend, and created her own style, and eventually, started a new era in fashion. She is a super star shining in the fashion world for ever and ever.
